I sincerely trust that the information contained in this letter will help to relieve the aching hearts at home in Australia. It indeed gives me great pleasure of recording the last hours of a True Australian soldier.

I cant tell you how glad I am to have that letter for you my Darling Mother, Father & Eileen, for I know what a great consolation it will be to know for certain that our darling old Roger had such devoted men to give him every help that was possible during that long journey to the dressing station. It is so grand to know how his loving care for others made his men so attached to him even though they were only together for a short time.

I will write to Wilkinson and thank him very much for his letter and will send him and his pals anything they want. 

Have you ever had a letter from the priest who attended darling old Roger? He must have written as I was sure he would do so. I hope his letter has not gone astray. I cant remember his name though I have tried and tried. Every thing was so awful
