very poisonous. On Sunday I wanted to get them out of London for the day, but Cicely had to be at the Hospital all day. We went to early Mass & I offered my Holy Communion for Brendan and all our other dear ones who have fallen. I took Aunty and Mary to Maidenhead for the day and we had lunch at "Skindles". It was very amusing to watch all the wierd people there & after lunch I took them up the river in a punt towards Boulter's Lock. Then we had tea & they caught a train back to London about six. I could not get a train to Oxford till about 8. It was a nice day & I think it did them good to have the little change. I could not help thinking of the last time I was there six years ago when we were all so happy together. Do you remember dear old Roger's wonderful performances at pushing wasps into the jam, and our frantic efforts to punt the Mullins girls along to Taplow?
