bring it home & present it to Daddy. It will have some small history as it will be the boss of the propellor that was shot through in the fight with 50 Huns when I got the M.C. The other trophy I have is one of my stints with a lovely long groove cut in it by a bullet.
On Saturday I came down here to join the family party once more. On the way down I was reading a paper & much to my surprise found my name in a list of mentions for valuable services. I was really very surprised but suppose this is the reward for the hard work I put in in England at training – it is'nt a despatch from France. I enclose the list for you. It is rather nice to have this recognition for doing my best during the long time I was in a soft job.
This is a most delightful spot way down in Cornwall. It rather reminds me of Clovelly on a large scale. Maurice & Bryan are at a convalescent home at the Esplanade Hotel. Aunty & Mary & I are staying in very nice quarters in a small house. We have the whole place to ourselves as there are no others staying here & have good rooms & a bath! We all got up early this morning and went to Mass. I went to Confession last Friday & received Holy Communion both yesterday and
