My own darling Mother & Father,
It is only two days since my last letter but I have time to write as this is an off day – raining & blowing like mad – and I dont want to miss a chance of sending you even a short letter.
On Tuesday we had a bad day for flying so in the afternoon I went with Segrave to tea at Barnsley Park with the Wickham Musgraves. We had a very nice afternoon most of which we spent picking walnuts. My hands are still stained a dirty brown from the sap of the walnuts.
Yesterday was also a bad day as it was too windy for pupils. Major Henderson had asked me to go to Oxford for a concert given by the squadron, so I flew over about tea time. I had dinner and stayed the night with the Hendersons. We all went to the concert last night, which was'nt a bad show at all.
This morning it was raining very hard but I took advantage of a slight clearing of the weather and flew back here just before lunch. I had a pretty
