My own Darling Mother & Father,

I have your dear old letters of February the 20th to March 8th up to the time you got to Melbourne. I am so much happier to see what a real joy and happiness darling little Roger is to you all – your letters are so much brighter. I knew that he would be such a great help to you all, the darling little chap. How I am longing to see you all and him! What a wonderful collection of babies there were at the party, – it must have been great fun. I also heard from dear old Eileen who seems to be so wonderfully well and so much happier with the darling little boy. Hilda wrote and told me all about him too and how very like darling old Roger he is. It is great to hear such happy news from you all after the awful sorrows of the last five months. I am most interested in the news of poor old H.E. I do think he has been scandalously treated by the Liberals, and the whole business is very low down. I suppose this is the end of his career as a governor – I am sorry for the old boy, who has always been very decent to us.

Well, since I last wrote I have seen lots of old pals, which has been simply splendid. First of all I got a telephone message
