Copies of the photo have been sent to you and Eileen so you ought to have them before this. I know how sad it will be for you all but still you will love to have them.
We havn't heard any further news of dear old Brendan yet – I wish we could find out something for poor old Uncle John & Auntie Jeannie. Jack D'Apice has written to the Colonel to try & learn some details but so far we have had no news.
Poor old Aunty Mary, I feel so sorry for her, for she feels it all so terribly and has been so very very good to us all. Now old Maurice has gone to France too & I am the only one of the boys left in England. I wish I could be more with Aunty & the girls to cheer them up but I cannot get away much at all. I got leave last week end and tried to cheer them all up a bit. We went to the Academy on Saturday and it was really more amusing than artistic. Some of the portraits were very good but the rest of it was
