also on leave so I saw a lot of friends. It is awfully nice to meet old pals over here & I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I have been to see Keith Ferguson several times. He is doing splendidly and was allowed to get out of bed on Monday. Tell the Fergusons that he is very cheery & has lots of people to see him. In fact Theo & I had to clear out after about an hour with him last Sunday as the arrival of half a dozen more visitors left scarcely any space in his room!
I did not forget darling Roger's birthday last Sunday and was at High Mass at Westminster Cathedral.
Work is going the same as before and keeps me very busy. The boy who had such an awful smash last week is doing very well and they say that he will be all right. I am so glad to hear that as I am very anxious about him. There is no news about my promotion but I am not worrying about that – it may come in time.
I have just seen that the elections have resulted in a big victory for the National Party in both the Senate and the Representatives. I am very glad, as it shows the swing of the pendulum, but I have no faith in Hughes.
The spring has come & everything is lovely here with the green shoots on the trees and the lovely blossom. We have a lovely little garden here & a fine tennis court which we will be using soon.
Good night & God ever bless you, my darling Mother and Father.
Your every loving son Geoffrey.
