inclined to meddle in flight affairs. If he tries that on with me I will object strongly but I don't think he will trouble me over much.
The other flight commanders are Kennedy – who was for a while my assistant instructor at Beaulieu & quite a good chap – and an ex-observer called Gibbon, who is also an excellent chap. So I think that we should be a fairly good squadron when we do go out. I am thinking out all sorts of schemes for training my flight so as to make them as efficient as possible.
I have applied for 4 days leave for Ciceley's wedding on the 5th, and I think I will get it all right. I had a wire from Cicely this evening asking me to be best man! I really am becoming a professional best-man & will have to consider seriously the establishing of a suitable fee for my services!! They are going to be married at Corpus Christi Church in Maiden Lane and the party afterwards is to be at the Savoy in a private room.
I don't think I have any more news to tell you this time, and only wish I had cheerier news for you. Do try not to worry too much about me. We always know that we have our own darling old Roger watching over us and interceding for us, and I do feel that I will be quite all right.
God bless you my own darling Mother & Father who are all the world to your loving son
Geoffrey
