will always count a lot in my record. Of course I know that I will get a good job sooner or later now but I'm not trying to hasten things.

Since my arrival here I have been told very confidentially that there is a very nice job coming my way soon. Colonel Freeman is going to have a School of Special Flying in the Group as soon as it can be arranged and Collier told me that I am to be put in command of it. That will be simply splendid if it comes off for it will be a most interesting & pleasant job and will give me an opportunity to show how I can run a show of my own. I am very tired of ordinary elementary instruction and a specialist job would suit me splendidly. Meanwhile I am to stay here to help pull this place together and it is a fairly hopeless task. However I'm going to do my best and for a start I went to the C.O. yesterday and told him what I think is the root of the trouble and suggested a remedy. So I have drawn up an entirely new programme of work which comes into force on Monday. If the C.O. really backs me up I do think we can make things
