Gilhooley's unhappiness. It is all very sad indeed and though as you say there may be wrong on both sides I do think Gertie's behaviour is disgraceful.
I got yesterday the photos of Eileen and the lovely Mr Darling. I think they are awfully nice and just love them. He does look such a splendid little chap and I can picture the joy & happiness he brings you. Oh how I wish I were back with you all even for a day – it would be just too glorious!
I have also got two more lovely cakes from you. They are such a treat for there is nothing like that obtainable these days over here. The sugar, tea and cheese also came quite safely. Thank you ever & ever so much for them all. I am going to take a large packet of tea to Aunty Mary when I get a chance to spend a day or two with them. The condensed milk is not quite a success for the tins are usually burst
