about 2 pm. About 1/3 of the way the weather became rather misty and S fired a green signal light and turned back towards Rendcomb! Glanville followed him but I was fed up & came on alone arriving here all right. This afternoon Segrave arrived and up to the present we have four machines here. Three are in the surrounding fields & the rest –?
So there is the tale of the wanderings of the squadron. Machines will keep on dribbling in for days & days to come & gradually chaos will be restored to order. I foresee infinite possibilities of trouble over the whole show but perhaps I am pessimistic – I hope so. I've done my damdest but it was'nt my show.
At present our quarters are not very comfortable but I hope to get settled down soon. It does'nt seem much like Christmas time – everything seems rather topsy-turvy. I don't quite know what I'm going to do at Christmas.

62 Squadron
Rendcomb.
I had to leave this unfinished as the lights went out suddenly & subsequent events have kept me going hard. I will try to keep up the sequence of events.
I did not know what I would do for Christmas as Segrave was talking of going off to Barnsley Park, which upset my plans
