It must be heartbreaking to have to take on such a 'dud' crowd, but it is a fine thing to make up your mind to win through, & then to do it. I believe those fellows won't know themselves in a month or two!
Did I tell you that Reg. Prévost blew in here a little while ago, & said he had met you in London? I also met Captn. Taylor M.C., P.T.'s son, a few days ago & he said he had met you at the Buchanan's flat with Prévost. Your friend Reynolds blew off some pretty hot air yesterday at a meeting of the Australian Flying Corps Comforts Fund. I am sending you a report of his speech.
There are two Royal Commissions sitting in Sydney at the present moment: one to enquire into the charges by the Labour crowd against the police in connection with the trial of the I.W.W. men last year, & the other to enquire as to whether there is sufficient evidence to justify the continued internment of seven Sinn-Feiners who, as I told you some little time ago, were locked up for the duration of the war. The first one is presided over by Judge Street, & he has to deal with the greatest collection of liars ever collected into a court at the same time. The evidence is sensational, but as the witnesses are now contradicting their previous statements in all directions, it seems impossible to find the
