looking after you, not to mention quite a large army of others such as grandfathers & grandmothers, & Aunt Liz, & plenty who will not forget you in moments of danger, & both of you boys always had strong faith in the intercession of Our Lady, and She is not forgetting you either. As for your little Mummy & me we are just splendid as you can see from the photos Eileen is sending you by this mail. There are other snapshots to follow, as those with Eileen herself in the group at Medlow had not been developed at the time the others were done. She herself is not in any of the first batch because she took them herself. None of them do justice to Peter, but they will give you some idea of what a dear little fellow he is.

We are posting you a copy of the "Alma Mater", which has a touching little note by Fr. Little on Roger, & pictures of both of you. I was careful to mark your name as Captain, but the editor knew better & corrected it to Flight Lieutenant. It is hard sometimes to make people understand that you know more about your own boy than they do.

Poor Fr. Hassett is very near his end. He is now in the Mater Misericordiae Hospital at North Sydney, & is reported to be very ill.

By the way, we heard lately that a Fr. Power S.J. is being imported from Ireland to be principal of Newman College, Melbourne, which is to be opened in a few weeks. We also heard that Fr. Maurice O'Reilly of St John's College, Sydney, would have liked the Melbourne job under his friend Dr. Mannix, but found it already promised.
