It just makes us indignant to think that the Easter festivities are going on as usual, there is even a ball at the Town Hall nominally for the battalions at the front & the town is full of able bodied young country fellow as well as the usual crowd of town shirkers. There are record crowds at the Show & Races. All this while the best & bravest are giving their lives to save this country & for whom? These callous brutes one can call them nothing else.

The morning papers wrote leaders pointing out the contrast between what is happening here & in France & warning the people of the condition here if the Allies fail but, all the same
