keep things going and cheer them all up if luck has been bad. That we will have much hard work to do goes without saying but I am not afraid of that. I know that there must be many dangers and trials ahead but with God's help I will come through them all – I resign everything to Him. I feel that He will preserve me for you, my own dearest ones, if it is best for us all. So do not worry about me too much, darling old Mummy & Daddy. Please God these times of horror & dread will soon end, but so long as we are in such peril as at present I would not be worthy to be your son, if I were not trying to do my little bit to drive back the Hun masses.

I am enclosing some snapshots of the week at Fowey with the family and
