cable reassured me & I just wept with happiness when I heard that you dearest were to be away from France in a day or so. I would not ring Daddy up because I knew how scared he would be at any message that day so I just waited till he came home about a quarter to eight & listened for his footsteps & rushed down the old garden path to tell him. He was just as happy as he could be dear, you know that we could not have any news so good in all the world To think that our darling was to be out of this terrible battle & all its hourly dangers was just heaven & we felt we had a great deal to thank God for in protecting you through those terrible air fights against such heavy odds. We hope for a cable from you shortly & hope you get congenial
