Next day we spent shopping etc & went to a matinée. Cis & Austin came down & had dinner with us at the Troc. Bryan & I caught a train at 10 pm for Fowey, where we joined Aunty, Mary & Maurice next day. We had a very happy family party there & spent our time playing golf, rowing, sailing etc. It is a lovely spot but awfully quiet & Mary & Maurice were getting rather tired of it after being there so long.
Bry had to go on Tuesday but I stayed till Friday, when I went up to spend a week end with the Vidals at Barnsley where I had a very quiet happy time. My old dog did'nt remember me at first but showed great affection later when she did recognise me! Mrs Vidal is servantless now so Margaret & I made ourselves useful at washing up etc.
On Monday 3rd I returned to London and reported to Air Board for orders. After much messing about I got sent to Oxford to report to Group Headquarters for posting. I got to Oxford on Tuesday and there I met Cotton-Minchin, who
