My own darling old boy

Your dear letters of April 10 & 2nd arrived a couple of days ago. We also had letters from Auntie & the girls dated May 13th & 15th. The mails are not so numerous as of yore & we just long to hear all about you.

It is sad to think that just as you were all feeling a little more cheery the dreadful message about dear Brendan reached you. I know how much you all thought of the dear brave good boy & how you will feel at his death. Poor Auntie Jeannie & Uncle John are broken hearted. They are very brave & John only broke down when he was alone with Daddy when
