During the past week or so I have been run nearly off my feet by various officers coming round to visit the stations and have had to work at all hours to keep my ordinary work up to date. Also there is now another new C.O. at the wing and I have to get into his ways just as I was getting used to the last one. He is Major Henderson but is not the one I was with last year. I do not like him as much as his predecessor but he seems very efficient. Nowadays there is no prospect of getting a squadron over here as they have practically closed down on promotion from captain to major. It is on account of the big surplus of majors left over after the recent amalgamation. So I'm afraid there is no prospect of my getting my promotion. That however does not worry me so long as I've got an interesting job & plenty of work to do.
