Friday 23-11-17.
My own darling Mother & Father,
I am just back here after having another wild & woolly 48 hours in London. Yesterday was our fortnightly holiday and I was lucky enough to make it into 48 hours! Wednesday was a hopelessly "dud" day so I asked Segrave if I might go off that morning as there was no prospect of any flying during the day. He let me go so I caught the 11.30 train from Brockenhurst & got to Waterloo about 1 p.m. I had lunch at the station & then rang up Aunty & arranged a party for the evening.
I went off & got theatre seats & then met them at 9 Porchester Terrace. Mary & I went off to the hospital and saw old Maurice who was looking very fit. Mrs Vidal was in London so we asked her & Margaret to join our party in the evening. We all met for a very cheery dinner party at the "Florence" and afterwards went to see "Arlette" – a very good musical comedy at the Shaftsbury Theatre. We finished up the evening with some light refreshments at the Regent Palace.
Next morning I had a long long sleep & breakfast in bed. I actually got up at 11.30!! The early part of the afternoon was spent
