to watch a British machine chase one of their own & shoot it down in flames miles inside their lines! Altogether it was a most successful patrol for us as we accounted for eight Huns & had no casualties ourselves.
I forgot to tell you that my dear old machine is still going strong & survived the fortnight I was away. I was pleased to find it was still intact when I came back from leave! The day before yesterday was a record for the flying corps. There were 49 Huns destroyed and 26 shot down out of control & our losses were 12!
I am very fit and cheery and quite enjoying the life out here. These are anxious times for everyone but it is no use worrying – the only thing is to try & kill Huns. The fighting now is terrible but we are going to
