I cannot write of other ordinary things that I meant to say in the letter I should have written last week, for this last week of sorrow has made all the petty details of my work here seem utterly trivial.

I am kept very very busy and fly most of the day and besides there is always office work to do. I like the work and I think I am getting on well. I have got rid of my assistant so I now have two men's work but that is better than having to trust half to one who cannot be relied on. I am very well though I have another little abscess on my jaw but it is nothing to worry about. I will write again later but there is nothing more to say at the moment – that is nothing that counts. So good night my own darling Mother & Father and God ever bless and
