My own darling Mother & Father,
I have just had a telegram from Bryan who is over on leave till the 24th, so I am going to apply for leave myself so that we can have a few days together. I spok to Segrave – my C.O. – the other day about some leave and he was quite agreable so I will apply for it this week. It will be great to have a few days in town with Bryan & Auntie & the girls and I feel I really do need the relaxation. I think I am entitled to a short spell as I really have worked hard continuously for the last seven months. I have just looked up my diary and find that, except for short spells (very few) of 24 hours which were quite unofficial, my only leave in seven months was 48 hours at the end of June, so they can hardly
