My own darling Mother & Father,
Since my last letter I have your dear letters of June 6th & 13th and July 4th. I will start numbering my letters now and this will be No 1.
I have been awfully busy, as usual, especially as I have no one to help me now and have to do everything. It makes it rather heavy work as there is no chance of getting any time off as there is no one to take my place. In fine weather the continual grind from dawn till dusk gets rather on ones nerves, as there is no chance of some one else being able to run the flight while I get away for a few hours. However I can't complain as I have an easy enough time compared with many others. I really dont mind how much work I put in because the results are most encouraging. Some of my ex-pupils have done very well & this squadron has quite a reputation now. The Wing Commander was in France a week or so ago and when he came back he said that our pilots were very well reported on out there. Seeing that he very seldom says such nice things I feel that this isĀ
