I'm simply going to set my teeth and fight it through and if they give me a run for my money I am going to make a good sound smooth running squadron out of the "duddest" show on earth. I've pulled a rotten flight together before this and I'm not going to be beaten now. Yesterday was simply awful and to day was nearly as bad. The more I tried to find out the more hopeless slackness & inefficiency I came up against. It is far worse than organising a new show, for then one can start fresh. Here I have to try and keep the rickety old tub sailing while I pull out the rotten framework and build in the strong one. Still I already can see my way more clearly and my plans are gradually being formed. Though this is only my second day and so far I have not left the office, there has been a great jump in the amount of flying done. I can see that it will be days before I can leave the office and even think of the machines & other things. All that is entirely in the hands of my instructors and I believe they will be very loyal and help me so much. I've a big unpleasant job before me but
