I put all my trust in God and resign everything to Him. He has been wonderfully good to me and so far has kept me safe in the most extraordinary way. I feel that He will answer your loving prayers and give me the grace & strength to enable me to do whatever I may have to do well and worthily of you, and that He will keep me safe to come back some day to the very bravest and best Mother & Father in the whole world. You know I am awfully proud of my own little Mother & Father and would sooner anything than that I should do anything in the least unworthy of them.

The next month will be a busy one for me as there is much organising to be done. Our observers have arrived to day and I have to try them out. Most of my pilots are away on leave so I have not had a chance to test them yet. I do not intend to have any "duds", and if any of my present lot of pilots are not up to scratch I have several of my own ex-pupils in mind whom I would much like to get. My mechanics seem to be quite a good crowd as far I have had an opportunity to judge. So I think I can make my flight very efficient. If I have my way it will be the flight of the squadron. Our C.O. is Major Smith. He has been on leave since I arrived so I have had nothing to do with him. I have met him before and he seems very decent. I hear he is rather a fusser and
