My dear Geoffrey
This will only be a short note, as I wrote to you about poor Bryan's death only four days ago, & there is little news since.
On Monday (yesterday) there was a Requiem at St Mary's for the dear old boy. It was very well attended, & everything went well. The Archbishop's address was excellent, as you can judge from the report which I enclose. The Telegraph did not send a reporter evidently but the Herald man did his work well. The News report I enclose, but it is manifestly made up from the Herald which appeared earlier in the day. There was no report in the Sun. I have sent copies of the Herald report to Frank & Maurice, & also to Fr. Cortie at Stonyhurst. Mother has sent it to Auntie Mary, & no doubt John & James have sent it also.
I heard from Private Wallace D.C.M. who was in the First Australian Field Ambulance in France, & knew Roger, that old Rowe, Roger's batman, has been wounded & was in Weymouth Hospital. Make some enquiries about the old boy, & if you can trace him send him something that he will
