well but of course it is slow work and very trying for the poor old boy. I do so want to see the old chap again & hope there will be a chance soon.

I am finishing this letter on the 18th. I sent you a cable this morning wishing you many happy returns of tomorrow. I hope it arrives in good time. 

I got your cable yesterday. I have sent Miss O'Brien the details about darling old Roger and the Bank has credited me with the £22 for the lost draft so I will send her a cheque.

I havn't any more news now so I will say good bye for the present.
