out with the original squadron were granted their observers wing so after our show in the morning we arranged a great dinner in Amiens to celebrate the event. In the evening we all went off to Amiens and had a magnificent dinner & lots of "fizz" – altogether a very cheery evening. There was much speechyfying after & some blighter went & proposed my health, which took me very much by surprise & I'm afraid my response was rather brief. It really rather staggered me for they drank my health as "our star pilot & splendid leader"!!
