I am glad you are back with your Bristol Fighters, instead of the B.E.8's, & that you have been able to give poor old Maurice a bit of a good time in London when you have got down (or rather up) there.
As for Cicely's wedding, a cablegram came (I suppose from Auntie Mary) dated 3rd January saying that the marriage was to be on the 5th. This reached Sydney on the 23rd so that I suppose at the same rate of progress our congratulations haven't yet got back to Cicely & Austin. A cablegram came from Cicely Curtin the other day to say that Bryan & Austin had rejoined their units, & that there was a good chance of Austin being transferred to Harefield, so that from the signature we conclude that she is safely married.
We were very much interested in all you wrote in reply to what I said about the choice of a profession after the war, & we can quite believe you will only be too glad to settle down & live quietly after the war is over. You must – as you say – have gained a wonderful amount of knowledge of men & things in your time in the army, & of the worst as well as the best. Isn't it strange that so many men can be, as you have found them, absolute rotters in
