My dear Friend
Your letter of the 8th of July has come safe to hand. Before this weeks gone, long before I trust the New Guinea adventurers will have returned to their friends safe & sound, and well laden with all the clinical [indecipherable] products of the very interesting land they have been investigating. I have been & am getting every day more & more anxious about them & send for my "Times" as early as possible to look over the Telegrams. May God grant them protection.
To turn to the main subject of our letters of [indecipherable], your Orchids. I need not say that I am delighted to hear such a good account of the "envoi"
Sir William Macarthur M.L.C.
