Volume 58: Sir George Macleay correspondence, 1848-1880: No. 080
You are here
are in Devonshire. I heard from him this morning. They very wisely are enjoying this charming weather in the most charming part of England. I feel now really I must admit that England is the most charming part of the world. They are in creme de la creme of rural beauty. I have never known such a spring. The lilacs & laburnums Rhododendrons & azaleas beat all I have ever seen in France. The Thorn bushes now & the Horse Chestnuts & Acacias are wonderfully comely. By the way, have you the double [indecipherable] Thorn.
