My dear friend

Enclosed you will find two letters from Ley of Croydon.  I have had a good deal of trouble with him, but at length I have got the matter closed I believe.  I was at his place yesterday, saw all the Orchids in capital condition in the boxin which it is proposed to pack them.  This last I dismissed as it is lined with Tin, but Leys people declare that they have been most successful in their shipments with boxes so lined.  They are all in pots.  You will see that the two I have marked, are not in your list of desiderata, and as you may have these two orchids
