I have been laid up with Bronchitis & sore throat ever since I landed in Europe owing to the frightful cold prevailing in Italy & France & am only now recovering under the genial influence of the climate of this much maligned Country.  Owing to some [indecipherable] connected in some way of [indecipherable] with that solvent of all such
