The out door Garden such as new planted Shrubs &c all seem to look well, I have not as yet been able to finish planting the new Rock work but hope to in a few days.
I could not meet with Mr Carruthers until Wednesday last. I learn[ed] from him that he has found the Oak timber for panelling, but is rather doubtful if it will quite answer the purpose & he tells me the work is progressing favourably towards being finished by the end of May.
