Summer of that low be calm Summer, which has not had [indecipherable] enough to ripen grain or fruit.  There has [indecipherable] of course are not [indecipherable] loss to the Country, not much loss of life [indecipherable] £50,000,000, to that one looks forward with more than ordinary dread to the approaching winter, when the physical [indecipherable] of this disastrous year will be intensified & lead I am afraid to much political mischief.  I am like a coward going to move away & as at present advice we are to winter in India.  I sent you
