I say nothing was about your arrangements with Veitch, as I am satisfied with what I heard that I am afraid after his own fashion he will carry out his [indecipherable] with you. A gentleman is no match - cannot be - for a London Tradesman in such a matter of barter, and I suspect that V. is an extreme type of his class. I think that [indecipherable] made a good [indecipherable] with P. Veitch so if you get £400 [£500 ?] worth of good plants, you may be tolerably content.
