My dear Friend

Tis a wonder this mail has brought me no letter form you.  You are so regular in yr. communications that I miss it, tho I was not looking for instructions or any other special matter form you.  I have heard however from Arthur so I know luckily that your silence is not owing to sickness.  By the Chimbarago which sailed about 16 days ago, Green dispatched to your address

The Honble
Sir William Macarthur, M.L.C.

say that I attribute a great deal, the large portion in that of my joint success in life to my happy association with yourself & your dear Brother.  God bless you dear old friend.  It was a most happy & fortunate day that took me to your neighbourhood.

Yrs [indecipherable]

Geo: Macleay
