My dear Friend

Your letter of the 8th of July has come safe to hand.  Before this weeks gone, long before I trust the New Guinea adventurers will have returned to their friends safe & sound, and well laden with all the clinical natural products of the very interesting land they have been investigating.  I have been & am getting every day more & more anxious about them & send for my "Times" as early as possible to look over the Telegrams.  May God grant them protection.

To turn to the main subject of our letters of later times, your Orchids.  I need not say that I am delighted to hear such a good account of the "envoi"

The Honble
Sir William Macarthur M.L.C.
