time.  I had an attack of acute rheumatism a few days ago, and have only this morning crept from my bed for the first time since I was stricken.  Nothing could well be more mal-apropos than this seizure.  I must let my Australian correspondence go by default as it were and have broken & more still [indecipherable] faith with several friends, among them Nicholson with whom I was to have dined tonight
