Dear Sister

It is now some time since I have received a letter from home so expect quite a crowd next mail. Last time I wrote I was having quite a day out at the Old George Hotel in Salisbury. I didn't number the letter so this one will be as above.

However let's tell you about the review of the Anzacs by the King.

The two preceding days we were practicing all day long & were necessarily excited when the tag  came. There were about 40000 ofcrs. & we made some spectacle just men men & men lined up in miles. The King came, the Royal standard was hoisted & the National Anthem played while we stood at attention & the infantry presented arms. There were about a dozen massed bands & they made some blow. After the inspection by H.M. & all his retinue we lined up for the march past & there is no doubt about the perfect marching. The 9th F. Amb. marched as straight as a die but just as we were passing the King someone
