Just posted some p.c.'s of Salisbury Cath.

Dear Sister

Have just finished another week end tour. Jack & I hired bikes & risking a roll call on Sunday morning took on the trip taking advantage of the absence of the warrant officer. We started out on Saturday at 2 pm & proceeded to Salisbury -10 miles - travelling along the beautiful little Avon river the while & passing through many of the typically beautiful English villages nestling along the banks. Weaving around these we again visited the Cathedral & saw what we missed last week - the Cloisters & Chapter House - the roof of the latter so particularly beautiful. I tried to take a photo of it but have no idea how it will turn out. One of the Canons of the Cathedral then showed us over his  residence & gardens on the bank of the river - most beautiful place. During the afternoon we met a naval officer who being very willing to talk told us much about the navy that people outside never hear or imagine. Simply opened our eyes.   Inter alia,  he said that the navy by their nets & submarine explosives arrangements have captured or destroyed at least 100 German submarines.
