I wrote to Eileen & Mick to congratulate them. I would like you to put a nice frame round Reg Hogan's photo & [indecipherable] it with my collection. Have rec'd letters from every boy & girl I know this mail.

Am very glad to hear that the souvenir of London & the snaps are to hand - was very anxious about them. Now I'll start.

We have just finished our four days leave. It was sprung on us suddenly & neither Jack nor I had any money. I did not expect mine from Mr Reeves for a couple of days after we started but he was very decent & sent it without any formality. We were depending on Jacks remittance turning up in time to see us both through but he only got it today. However luck always seems to favour us.

First let me break the news gently to you as to our trip - London to Edinburgh to Glasgow to Loch Lomond to London to Brighton to London to Camp. Now I will proceed to give  a scholarly description in order of the several places so as not to miss anything.

Arrived London, we fed sumptuously & went to a Promenade concert at the Queen's Hall - supped & caught the 11.15 pm express to Edin. the Flying Scotchman [Flying Scotsman]. Four of us bribed a porter & got a compartment to ourselves.
