Yesterday's attacks rounded off the exploit and the capture of Beaurehain by the Australians with 500 prisoners adds to a corp's triumph to which there is no parallel. The Australians drove the enemy fro Villers-Bretonneux and saved Amiens over six months ago. They have never ceased fighting since. First a succession of small assaults near Hamel. Then the great battle and break through on August 8. Then continuous local attacks and patrol penetration that quite broke the nerve of the enemy. Then the smatching [?] of Mount Saint-Quentin and heavy street fighting. Then the bitter and obstinate battle, first at the Hindenburg and then at the strongest and most wired part of the Beaurevoir line. Again, recently, in company with a tank corps, whose dash and endurance they so admire, the storming of Beaurehain and the break-up of counter-attacks in which very large numbers of the enemy were killed by very few Australians.
Is there any record in the war of such a six months' tale of unrelenting energy, unbroken progress and cumulative honour?
