started when the advance began all leave was cancelled. It has reopened in a very limited way - about one a month from this unit - & under the circs I can hardly expect to get leave for years.
Have you heard that after the war while the troops are waiting to be returned the Commonwealth proposes to make some educational arrangement whereby troops who were previously following university courses & other specified courses of training for professions trades etc will be given opportunity to study attend lectures & otherwise follow up their studies.
I don't know yet of what nature the arrangements will be but I think it a splendid idea & intend to take full advantage of it. I believe the scheme originated with the Americans.
Yes I remember Norman Blake from Tuggerah. I don't wonder at him being physically unfit now as he only had one kidney then.
