Dear Myra,

Your letter of 3rd Novr last to hand a few days ago. You had just returned from the Manning River trip & rec'd the copy of Faust which I sent from the trenches. Don't lose it - it represents some wonderful experiences of round Villers-Bretonneux where this Division made itself famous in saving Amiens - the most interesting of all our experiences.

I hope Rita Kirk made a bit of a hit & that she didn't come under the notice of the Triad.

You talk about Billy & his spirit of getting on in the world. He has certainly got on in the military but his London experiences have not been too good for him. However that's all on this side of the world.

If you intend coming over this side by all means get a knowledge of French it will mean a lot to you & without it you can't get into good French families. They are as hard to get into as good English homes. On this subject we had a debate a
