France
3/3/18

Dear Dad,

I have your letter of 17th Dec last. It is a long time since we have had any mail & I have been looking forward to your Xmas letters for some time. At present I am the unit postman & have a decent job while the other chap is on leave. We are in the line at present & tonight all the boys have go up for a small stunt & I am one of the "indispensable" few who have missed it - the first time for me since arriving in France. Jack also broke his record as he is in charge of a branch canteen at one of the ADS's. We have been in everything together formerly. But enthusiasm for that kind of thing wears off after being through Ypres. One is quite content to sit back now & again. Since Ypres I have not been in the line at all.
