congratulations if you ever see her. I wrote to Mrs Scott of Scotland a few days ago asking her to make any suggestions on a programme I had set out for spending my leave when it comes. I picked up a Sunday Sun of 21st October & read the official account of the stunts then. I think they read a little different from my account in the letters. There is a lot more I will have to tell you someday - things I can't mention in letters.

The latest news since last letter to Dad is that we have moved   into the line - taken over the same front as we were on immediately before & during our first "stunt'. We always seem to hang about the same region. Here it is particularly quiet a real home. but Jack & I struck cold footed jobs this time. Most of the old hands are out of the trenches this time & they are giving the reinforcements a breaking in on the quiet front. I am still in the orderly room in a little town -  & am at present on night duty. That amounts to watching the 'phone stoking a fire making coffee & writing letters half the night - the other
