4.

has brightened up a bit.

I am enclosing a few letters to be forwarded on. It is so seldom that we get the green envelopes that I am taking the chance as they are not censored by our officers & very likely not at all. Also we are not allowed to write more than two letters a week & then only two pages so it will be some time before I answer the 29 I rec'd.

Don't worry about me not having warm clothing. I can pick from 2000 or 3000 kinds of underclothing every day. I am as bad as Eileen - wear a clean pair of socks every day. Nothing more except went up town tonight & had a feed of coffee & chips & a look at them dancing in an "estaminet" (wine shop). Wine is 1d a glass here but I believe it is awful stuff. I have had about two glasses since I arrived in France - it is very sweet & mild, you can't get anything else to drink. But the coffee anywhere is very good
