He has a good job in London & I am sure he won't leave it unless he gets something pretty good. As far as I am concerned I wouldn't be out of this job over here, quite satisfied & having a fine time. For the last fortnight a whole crowd of us have been going out demolishing ruined houses for bricks. It is hard work but great exercise. We walk about 7 miles there & back & carry bricks all day. On our way to & from work we all flock into a coffee shop for morning & afternoon tea. It is very interesting to wander through all the ruined homes & occasionally a chateau & see all the furniture & all kinds of ornaments & discarded clothes & papers lying all over the place just as the people left them in their hurry to get away.   Some of the Chateaux I have been through are beautiful containing all the original furnishings - one particularly still has its carved oak furniture & panels & sideboards. I have many souvenirs from these places but can't send them home - yet.

Tell Dad his letter about the war position is very interesting. I would like to discuss it from the point of view of the soldier over here. There is much I could tell you but it is
